FM1 Framing Station
Build your own wall panels offsite, with minimal labour.
The FM1 is a framing station for precise prefabricated timber frameworks. It produces open wall panels in a wide range of heights, lengths and thicknesses with minimal labour. It is the entry point into offsite construction for any builder or framer who wants to make their own panels and move work off the job site. It scales with you: run it as a compact semi-automatic station now, and grow into a larger Randek wall line later.
A framing station for precise prefabricated timber frameworks: one operator places the elements, the machine nails and indexes to the next position.
- Lower the labour on every panel. The operator places the elements; the machine nails and indexes to the next position automatically. One operator produces complete frames.
- Move work offsite. Framing walls in the factory means time and labour savings at the job site, in a controlled indoor environment, independent of weather.
- One station, many panel sizes. A fixed side and a movable side adjust the width in the frame, so you can produce different frame heights and dimensions without changing machines.
- Handles real building timber. Studs, bottom plates and top plates across the dimensions common in timber framing.
- Accurate, repeatable frames. Elements are positioned and joined in a controlled sequence for consistent quality panel after panel.
- A clear upgrade path. The FM1 is the first step in Randek’s wall-line range, which runs from manual all the way to fully automated.
How it works
The FM1 is built in three connected sections: an infeed section with pulley supports, the basic machine that performs the assembly, and an outfeed section that delivers the finished frame to the next station. The frame is made up of bottom plates, top plates, studs and any sub-elements. Working in semi-automatic mode, the operator places each element by hand at the operator’s seat and confirms it; the machine then nails and advances automatically to the next position. The basic machine and the output section move together, and the movable side sets the frame width, so switching between panel heights is a machine setting, not a rebuild.
