Framing station
A framing station is the machine that assembles studs, plates and noggins into a wall frame and nails them together.
Also known as framing table, framing machine
The framing station is where a wall panel begins. It squares up the studs and the top and bottom plates, positions them, and nails the frame together, the step that used to be done by hand on a bench and that sets the accuracy of everything added afterwards.
A production-line framing station has to cope with panels that change size from one to the next, and with extra members like noggins and multi-part studs, without stopping to be reset by hand.
