Products & systems / Randek pre-study
The pre-study: where every project starts
An engineering service, not a sales meeting. A named Randek project leader works out the system that fits your factory, and you get a layout, a delivery time and a quotation before anything is ordered.
What the pre-study delivers
A factory-scale decision, de-risked before you commit. The result is defined against what you asked for and against the reality of your factory.

- A named project leaderOne Randek project leader leads the work from start to finish and commits to a lead time afterwards.
- A layout for your factoryA detailed layout adapted to your available production surface, in the hall you have or the one you are planning.
- 2D and 3D visualisationSee the equipment in your factory before it is built, and discuss it with your own team.
- The right capacity levelCapacity based on your building system and your demand, at the automation level that fits.
- New functions where neededWhere a new function is needed, the work can include developing, building and testing it.
- Specification and quotationA technical specification, a delivery time and a quotation you can plan against.
Four steps from question to quotation
Scope and cost are agreed in writing before the work begins, so the investment is understood before it is made.
Scope agreed
We agree in writing what the pre-study covers and what it costs, before any work starts.
Your factory
Your project leader works through your products, capacity demand, production surface, staffing and building system.
The solution
Layout, capacity level and machines, reusing proven Randek equipment where it fits and specifying new where it does not.
Specification & quotation
A technical specification, a delivery time and a quotation you can take to your board.
Come prepared: the questions that sharpen the result
You do not need every answer. Working through these before the first meeting makes the pre-study faster and the recommendation sharper.
01 Goals and businessWhat the investment has to deliver
- What challenges could automation solve for us today?
- Which KPIs and growth targets are we aiming for?
- What production volume do those targets require?
- What manual tasks will remain after automation?
02 Factory and spaceWhere the line will stand
- Do we have the space, and could the layout be reconfigured?
- Is there enough height clearance, and what can the floor carry?
- Is this a new factory, an extension or the existing hall?
03 Product and designWhat the line will build
- Which products, variants and wall types do we build, and how many of each?
- Are maximum lengths, heights and depths documented?
- Could we adjust products or materials to suit automation better?
04 Data and softwareHow the drawing reaches the machine
- Which CAD system do we use, and can it export to the line?
- Should the line connect to our ERP or planning system?
Many of our standard functions started in a customer’s pre-study.
Several functions now standard across the AutoEye, ZeroLabor and AutoWall ranges were first developed during a customer’s pre-study. Where a new system is needed, the agreement can include building and testing prototypes.
About the pre-study
What does a Randek pre-study include?
A detailed layout adapted to your production surface, 2D and 3D visualisation of the equipment, a capacity level based on your building system, development of new functions where needed, and a technical specification with delivery time and quotation.
Is the pre-study a sales meeting?
No. It is an engineering service led by a named Randek project leader, who defines the system that fits your factory and commits to a lead time afterwards.
Do I need to know which level of automation I want?
No. Finding the right level is part of the pre-study. If you want to prepare, the automation guide walks through the options.
Can our existing machines be part of the solution?
Yes. The pre-study may reuse proven equipment from the Randek portfolio or specify new machines, always defined against what you asked for.
What happens after the pre-study?
With the specification, delivery time and quotation in hand you decide. After an order the line is engineered and tested at our plants in Sweden, installed by our own staff and followed up against your KPIs. See how a project runs.
