Products & systems / SP720 Series Cut Saws
One saw, every timber build.
The SP720 series is Randek’s crosscut saw platform. It is reliable, flexible and easy to use. Whether you produce roof trusses, wall and floor elements, whole prefabricated houses, or work in a joinery or timber yard, the SP720 handles the cutting. The series has been on the market for decades and is continuously improved in close cooperation with our customers around the world. It is available as a stand-alone saw or as part of a larger, integrated Randek machine line together with infeed and outfeed tables, routers and more.
Randek’s crosscut saw platform: angled and inclined cuts in one machine, computer-controlled length stops, and up to three board layers per cut.
The SP720 series crosscuts timber for roof trusses, wall and floor elements and whole houses. The blade swivels and tilts, so angled and compound cuts are covered in one machine, up to three board layers per cut.
Choose the SP722 for angled crosscutting at a lower power and price point. Choose the SPL728 when you need the full range of inclined, compound cuts, the standard choice for roof-truss production.
Blade swivel 0°–180°, no blade incline, 5.5 kW saw motor.
Blade swivel 0°–360°, blade incline 90°–28°, 7.5 kW saw motor.
Timber is fed along a non-driven roller conveyor by a manually activated feed roll to its position for the current cut. When the operator starts the cut, the retracting devices and plungers automatically fix and straighten the board. The under-table blade is raised pneumatically to make the cut, and the computer-controlled stops on the outfeed table set the next length. The operator follows the whole process on the touch screen.
The SP720 connects to an extensive range of peripheral equipment, so the line can be configured to your production. Alongside timber pickers, outfeed stackers and pushers and label printers, two units are added directly to the saw and its benches:

A 35-tonne (343 kN) nail-plate splicing press on the infeed bench joins boards end to end before cutting, so timber can be spliced to any length with minimal waste. Plungers and retracting devices keep the boards aligned during pressing.

A milling head for birds-mouth and seat cuts, manually adjustable between 0 and 45° with a cut depth up to 120 mm. It works on its own or alongside the SPL728 and SP722 saws.
The SP720 saw works on its own or grows into a complete line with feed benches, timber picker and stacking. These are example configurations; we plan the exact line with you in a pre-study.

The SP720 saw unit on its own. The operator feeds and positions the timber by hand and the saw makes every angled and compound cut. The simplest way to add accurate crosscutting to a workshop.

Add infeed and outfeed benches with a powered timber feeder, so the board is transported to each cut and the computer-controlled length stops set the length. Retracting devices and plungers fix the board at the cutting line for accuracy.

A full line: a timber picker feeds boards from the pile, the saw cuts, and an outfeed stacker piles the finished timber onto a lift table automatically. The high-throughput setup for roof-truss and house production.
