Fink truss
A fink truss is the standard pitched roof truss, with internal webs arranged in a W; it is the most widely used truss type for houses.
Also known as fink truss, W truss, standard truss, common truss, W-type truss
The W web pattern gives a very good ratio of strength to timber, which is why the fink truss is the default for duo-pitched roofs on homes. It is typically used for spans of roughly 5 to 10 metres; a double fink (double W) adds more webs for longer spans.
It goes by several names: W truss in Scandinavia, fink in the UK and North America, and simply standard or common truss in many product ranges.
