Roof trusses
Fan truss
A fan truss has webs that fan out from points on the bottom chord to the top chord, giving the top chord extra support.
Also known as fan truss, fan roof truss, fan web truss
The fanned webs support the top chords at more points than a fink truss does. That suits roofs with heavy coverings such as tiles, or longer spans where the top chords would otherwise need to be much deeper.
It is a variation of the fink truss rather than a separate family, and it is often chosen by the truss design software when loads demand it.
