Duo-pitch roof
A duo-pitch (gable) roof has two slopes meeting at a central ridge, with a gable wall at each end.
Also known as duo pitch roof, gable roof, pitched roof, saddle roof, dual pitched roof
It is the most common roof on houses in the Nordic countries, the UK and North America: simple to build, sheds rain and snow well, and leaves a usable or ventilated roof space.
Duo-pitch roofs are usually built with fink (W) trusses, or with frame (A-) or attic trusses when the roof space is to be used as rooms. The gable ends are closed with gable end trusses or prefabricated gable elements.
