Building elements

Roof element

A roof element is a prefabricated section of roof or ceiling, built as a flat panel of joists or rafters with boarding and often insulation, and craned into place.

Also known as roof cassette, roof panel, prefabricated roof panel, roof cassettes, ceiling element

Roof elements (roof cassettes) are the roof equivalent of floor cassettes. They are used for flat and low-pitched roofs, for pitched roofs built without trusses, and as ceiling elements under a truss roof. A complete element can include the deck, insulation, vapour barrier and ceiling boards.

Because the whole roof arrives in a few large pieces, the building is closed against the weather far faster than with a roof built on site, and dangerous work at height is cut to a minimum.
