Floor cassette
A floor cassette is a prefabricated floor section: joists with sheeting and often insulation and services. It is built off site and craned into place as a unit.
Also known as floor element, floor cassettes, roof cassette
A floor cassette is a self-contained floor panel made from timber joists with a deck of sheeting fixed on top, and frequently insulation, service routes and even ceiling boards added in the factory. The same construction is used for roof cassettes.
Because a cassette arrives as one large, accurately built unit, an entire floor can be laid in a fraction of the time it takes to build it joist by joist on site, with a flat, safe working platform available almost immediately.
