Panelized construction
Panelized construction builds a house from flat prefabricated wall, floor and roof panels that are assembled on site.
Also known as panelised construction, panel building
In panelized (or panelised) construction, the building is broken down into flat elements that are made in a factory and stacked for transport. On site they are craned into position and joined, so the structure goes up quickly while the panels themselves were built accurately indoors.
It sits between traditional stick-building on site and fully volumetric modular construction: more factory quality and speed than the former, more transport efficiency and design flexibility than the latter.
