Roof trusses
Queen post truss
A queen post truss has two vertical posts instead of one, which lets it span further than a king post truss.
Also known as queen post, queenpost truss, queen post roof truss, two post truss
The two queen posts rise from the bottom chord to the top chords, often with a horizontal member between their heads, leaving an open rectangle in the middle. This extends the span and can leave usable space in the centre of the roof.
The same idea underlies many attic trusses, where the open middle becomes a room.
