Coffered truss
A coffered (tray) truss has a bottom chord that slopes up at the sides and runs flat in the middle, creating a raised tray ceiling.
Also known as coffered truss, tray truss, tray ceiling truss, coffer truss, tray/coffer truss
The ceiling rises from the walls in two sloping sections and then levels off, like an upturned tray. The effect is a higher, more generous room without a fully vaulted ceiling, and a natural recess for lighting.
The name varies: coffered truss and tray truss are both common, and some manufacturers group the type with scissor or vaulted trusses.
