Roof trusses

Cambered truss

A cambered truss has a bottom chord that is slightly raised in the middle, giving a little extra ceiling height and a gently sloped ceiling.

Also known as cambered truss, cambered bottom chord, cambered roof truss

The bottom chord is built with a shallow upward slope or camber from each heel to the centre. The effect is between a standard truss and a scissor truss: the ceiling gains height without a fully vaulted room.

Cambered trusses are listed as a type of their own by many manufacturers, especially in North America.
