Maintenance

By proactively working on maintenance, you can significantly improve the lifespan of your production equipment and maintain a high-quality end product. Randek has developed a robust methodology for the maintenance of production equipment used in prefabricated house production. The extent of maintenance required depends on customer needs and the specific production equipment. Randek collaborates with customers to develop customized maintenance programs.

Overview of maintenance services

Maintenance is divided into two categories: corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance. By proactively focusing on preventive maintenance, the need for corrective maintenance can be minimized. Corrective maintenance is often associated with high costs due to its unscheduled nature, potential customer losses, unproductive operator hours, and the inability to plan activities effectively.

Preventive maintenance

Scientific studies show that the total cost of maintenance can be reduced by proactively implementing preventive maintenance. Preventive maintenance is further divided into two categories: routine maintenance and major recurring maintenance. Routine maintenance can be performed by Randek or the customer after training. Major recurring maintenance should be carried out by, or in conjunction with, Randek. A customized program is developed based on the complexity of the production equipment. Typically, annual or biannual maintenance efforts are recommended to ensure the long-term operation of the production equipment.

Corrective maintenance

Even with a proactive preventive maintenance strategy in place, situations requiring corrective maintenance can still occur. Randek educates customers on what to do when corrective maintenance is needed and provides checklists to diagnose the cause of the issue. Support from Randek is available by telephone and/or via VPN connection directly to the customer’s production equipment.

Spare parts

Proactively working with a strategy for spare parts supply minimizes downtime costs in the event of a breakdown. Randek works with customers to develop a list of recommended spare parts to keep in stock. Some of the stock can be held by Randek, and the spare parts supply strategy is customized based on customer needs and production equipment.

TRAINING

Randek offers a training program that equips customers to perform portions of both preventive and corrective maintenance themselves. The level of customer involvement in maintenance can vary, and specific training programs are developed for each situation and customer.
